Jerry Collins - Principal

Jerry is the Principal Solicitor in Collins Crowley.  A former student of Blackrock College and a graduate of University College Dublin, he began practicing law in 1979.

An eminent family law practitioner, Jerry was a director of Free Legal Advice Centre ( FLAC).  He initially worked in the field of criminal law and then moved into areas of commercial and company law and taxation.


He has sought to develop the firm’s expertise in a number of areas and has advised major companies in the field of health and safety and strategies in reducing the risks of liability . He has contested and defended major personal injury actions while at the same time leading the firm in extending its client base and reaching into sectors such as defamation, business, maritime and insolvency law.

He led the legal team for the rights of the unborn following the 1983 amendment to the Constitution, which sought to protect both mother and child and he led the challenge to the manner in which tax payers funds were spent in the campaign, to amend the Constitution’s prohibition on divorce in 1995.

He currently specialises in personal injuries litigation.

Jerry is also a keen sailor, and has competed in some of the toughest races world wide including the Fastnet Race, and the Round Ireland and the Sydney Hobart Race.
